Motor Can
The motor can provides a mount for the motor, houses the
magnets, and supports one
bearing to support the armature.
Inside the Can
The magnets are positioned centered around the mounting holes. This
positioning is critical, since it is relative to the magnets timing must
be adjusted. In order to prevent the motor mounting screws from hitting
the magnets, they are always placed such that the screws clear the magnets,
and the magnets are centered around these screws. Thus, the screw holes
provide a convenient external indicator for timing adjustment.
